The WfMC Must Be: Relevant, Inclusive, Sustainable, Collaborative, Global, Definitive, Superior

Paradigm Shift:

OLD = membership means access to committees and meetings

NEW = membership delivers a clear set of benefits, mapped to individual member interests and where the value of the sum exceed the cost

Guiding Principals in Transformation:

#1 - make more accessible to individuals (vs corporations)

#2 - move decisively to open source model (including licensing, revisions, acknowledgments, conformance certification)

#3 - offer clear and compelling tangible value for membership (irrefutable ROI)

#4 - provide a platform for members to profit through contributions and commitment

#5 - WfMC should serve as the industry steward, in thought leadership, workforce development, and risk management

#6 - WfMC should be bring together interested parties; partners and collaborators, buyers and sellers

#7 - value should be delivered as "frictionless" as possible, leverage online/web 2.0 resources to the greatest

Specific Directional Changes and Initiatives:

-- Move specific research release model; paid content, royalty-based, free to members

-- NEED conformance criteria, program and consulting services

-- Anyone can sell through the WfMC as long as members receive it for free

-- Move to definitive open source model vis-a-vis Google Code

-- Provide specific business platform through consulting and education

-- Define clear member benefits vis-a-vis technical services and marketing services

-- Resolve technology platform and governance model

-- Define transparent, SLA-based administration ("secretariat services")

-- Take a larger role in workforce development

-- Develop certification/accreditation program

-- Establish model for chapters to be run as businesses
