Public Description - Undocumented Workers

The goal of this page is to collect information about how undocumented workers and how they might, or might not, be considered modern day slaves.

I was complaining to a friend that worst ethical quandary is that foreigners are lured to jobs under false presences, or are trafficked into such jobs, and then are forced to work under conditions that are immoral. His question back was: how much of this is there? Is this a 1-in-a-million situation, or is it a 10% situation. I didn't know, so I created this page to collect information about this.

The conclusion of this research is that trafficking of undocumented workers in a situation of virtual slavery is a serious problem with estimates between 14,000 to 50,000 people. While this is significant in numbers of people, it reflects only 0.1 to 0.3% of all undocumented workers, so it would be inaccurate to equate all undocumented worker as being trafficked.
