STOPS was organized in 2004 by parents of Santa Teresa High School. The purpose of STOPS is to foster a closer relationship between home and school, and to assist in the general welfare of the school, the students, and the community.
STOPS provides information to parents through regularly held meetings, School Loop, and the Daily Bulletin. Various parent and campus groups are invited to share information about their groups at the STOPS meetings. These meetings provide parents the opportunity to hear from the principal and other groups such as STMAA (band), STABC, and the Grad Nite Committee. Parents who want to be more involved are invited to attend. STOPS meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of every other month at 7:00pm in the school library.
In 2005 we established the STOPS Grant Program through which teachers can receive grants from $250 to $1000 for academic enrichment programs or projects that enhance learning, nurture creativity, and have a broad impact. Grant applications are accepted and grant money is distributed to recipients twice each school year.
The annual
Holiday Boutique
, traditionally held on the second weekend of November, provides major fundraising for the STOPS grant program and provides an opportunity for student profit-sharing.
