How to Propose Fundraising Activity
STMAA Fundraising Goals

Fundraising is a crucial part of our program. On the extremely limited amount of funds that we receive from the state and the school district we are faced with a difficult choice, we either can limit the music education of our students or we can fundraise to provide the best possible music education experiences we can for our students.
STMAA provides several excellent fundraising opportunities. STMAA provides guidelines based on our annual budget that show how much each student's contribution to the overall cost of the program is. The funds that the students generate does not completely cover the entire cost of our yearly budget and that is why STMAA provides both fundraising for students and for our gener al fund.
There are several ways that you can support STMAA at this time:
We Care Coffee Fundraiser. On Tuesday, September 21st we launched our annual fundraiser through We Care Coffee. The proceeds from this fundraiser benefit e ach student's individual account to be used to pay each student's band fees and support our music program. The fundraiser is a pre-sale fundraiser. Each student has a packet with an order form, catalog, and informative flyer. I have attached sam ple letters to send via email to encourage online sales by people that you know, a sample of this years coffee label and the informational flyer. Orders are due October 7th.
You can support our general fund by attending our Monthly Dinner dine-outs . Simply go to our website at www.600building.com and download the flyers for our monthly dinner dine-outs.
Shoreline Information
Hi Band Families,
Aramark is no longer (as of May 2010) offering free TEAM training for the 2010 concert season. However, you do have the opportunity to take on-line TIPS training which fulfills Aramark's TEAM training requirement. The on-line training costs $40 and expires 3 years from test completion date. (You only have to take this training once every 3 years.)
Here is the link for the TIPS training: http://tipsalcohol.com/
Upon completing the training, you'll need to print your certificate of completion. I will need to provide Aramark with your certificate as verification that you've been trained.
As soon as you complete the training, you may sign up for any Shoreline event at Volunteer Hub. Link to Volunteer Hub is: http://stmaa.volunteerhub.com/Events/EventGroup/Summary.aspx?EventGroupID=2259
Thank you,

Questions -
- How are we notified that we passed? - I don't know, but Kerry is supposed to have a list.
- What else do we need to know about working at Shoreline? Parking? - Workers park in a special parking place, past the other entrances, which is near the volunteer entrance. Looking at the facility the way you normally enter it, the volunteer entrance is way to the right.
- Badges? - I don't think there are any.
- What to wear? (I heard from someone that it was black pants and shoes and Shoreline supplies a shirt?) Shoreline supplies a shirt. Pants are (black?)
- Do we log in somewhere so they know we are there? log out? - At the volunteer entrance they check your ID, and let you in only if you are on the list of people expected.
- Is there an area on the Volunteer Hub that explains all this? Check back here as we fill out this space.

New Ideas
Do you have an idea for a fund raising project? If so, please fill out the form (see the Attachments section) and send it to the Director of Fundraising. The form asks questions around expected expenses and income, so we can make a realistic assessment of the risk and potential of this particular activity.
