Don't miss the BPM Technology Standards presentation 2:30 to 5:30 on Monday afternoon.
1:00 ? 5:00 presumably focused on XPDL 2.1 conformance issues
Agenda
2008 Calendar
XPDL
Release 2.1 Status. We hope to hold the final discussion session before the membership vote on rataification.
Open session for non members? Perhaps a special session for non members in order to get feedback on the standard.
XPDL conformance in Japan
IF/5 - lets come up with a better name for this, and lets hear about progress by Shane and Michael
IF/2 - proposing a new working group on this: a protocol to retrieve worklist as XML data. Would allow any worklist client to access any workflow engine. Would like proposals for a name of this protocol, and a volunteer to chair.
Wf-XML-R status
WfMC Members: you can edit this page and add things to the agenda. Please do this if you think there is an important topic to discuss. Also, look here for the minutes after the meeting has passed.
Notes from Meeting
Attendees
Keith Swenson, Michael zur Muehlen, Robert Shapiro, Shane Gabie, Justin Brunt, Nathaniel Palmer (part time).
Agenda
XPDL 2.1
No known issues with XPDL 2.1.
XPDL Topics
Activity Cost enhancement proposed by Shane Gabie.
Want to be able to have all costs associated with an activity.
Fixed costs and resources associated with Model. Want to be able to know how to obtain associated information at simulation runtime.
So could be associated with a particpant.
Shane will take ownership of wiki page that describes Activity based Costing and update with current proposals as discussed.
Michael proposes additional spec for this topic so that it could be added as an extended attribute. Perhaps keep the existing constructs for basic support.
Robert will work with Shane and Michael.
XPDL Conformance
Change needs to be made - in XMLSpy - if assign xsl to document and then run transform and namespace for schema set to 2001 schema it fails schema test. Tom Laverty is modifying so that it will continue. Schema include integrtity checking and if there are references to other things that are not found it fails the integrity check. Can be avoided by removing schema checking.
Simple conformance process was discussed. Robert had reworked this from the original proposed by Bruce Silver. Constructs such as Inclusive OR Gateway were removed. Standard process needs further work.
Issues with BPMN spec and hence XPDL which must attempt to persist various constructs. Example is of Inclusive OR construct.
Need specific recommendations if you want a BPMN model to be portable.
Hopefuly will get feedback in the conformance which ca be examined and confomance recommendations and/or specification improved.
Interface 5
Needs name other than just merely Interface 5.
After discyssion prefered name is: Business Process Analytics Format - BPAF
Michael and Shane led the group on discussions of what was required for this interface and possible schemas for the events to be published by a BPM system.
Interface 2
Keith propose new working group but not enough members present to discuss in detail. This group will need a chairman to lead it.
